The Fondazione AGO - Modena Fabbriche Culturali is a Third Sector Body: the founding partners are the Municipality of Modena, the Modena Foundation and the University of Modena and Reggio.

The Foundation aims at fostering the development of Modena's cultural and creative vocation, identifying and enhancing all those activities able to foster cohesion and provide unity and identity to the city's cultural system, generating synergies, resilience and added value.

AGO offers a coordinated, original and future-oriented cultural offering, enabling the Modena system to increase its international projection, the growth of a society of knowledge and lifelong learning, the enhancement of research and technology transfer and the attraction of talent.

The hub of the system is the former Sant'Agostino Hospital, restored to its functionality as an Este monumental complex, fulcrum of an interdisciplinary cultural system, a place of interchange and contamination of knowledge between the visual arts, humanism and science.

Fondazione AGO collects the legacy of FMAV Fondazione Modena Arti Visive and the three institutions that merged into it - Galleria Civica di Modena, Fondazione Fotografia Modena, Museo della Figurina.
