In collaboration with Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto, AGO offers visitors the chance to immerse themselves in an artistic performance, among the moving bodies of real dancers, simply by wearing a visor and a pair of headphones.

It is the magic of the project Virtual dance for real peopleof which Sundial is part of: a new form of immersive dance that promotes some original choreographies produced by FND/Aterballetto. The project stems from a reflection that FND / Aterballetto undertook with RE:Lab, a research laboratory in Emilia-Romagna that has always been committed to the themes of interaction between human beings and technologies.

What will you see? Sundiala true dance performance conceived by choreographer Diego Tortelli and interpreted by Annemieke Mooij and Casia Vengoechea, which was presented in June 2021 in the very space of the historic Pharmacy for the public in attendance. The same performance was also designed to be made usable in Virtual Reality, then recorded and re-edited, thanks to the technology Cinematic Virtual Realitycapable of reconstructing immersiveness as close to the real thing as possible. In fact, much more than real!

The project Virtual dance for real people allows dance to present itself digitally but not in the abstract: technology is not the object of the production, but the language that allows dance to amplify the emotions aroused in the spectator by making him/her go on stage together with the dancers in a total immersion in the scene.

Sundial features two dancers, two women - one 'able-bodied' and one 'differently-abled' - accompanied by the sound of the Finnish electronic writer and composer AGF (Antye Greie), whose work explores the spoken word in combination with electronic music to create alienating and intimate atmospheres. The sound and the 360° vision transform the experience in the historic Pharmacy into a science fiction immersion, a journey to a foreign place, accompanied however by the sound of the human voice as a memory of something that once was, a memory of a place that was once inhabited by the voice itself.
