'Modena futura creativa' is the evocative name of the new site dedicated to Modena's candidacy as Unesco Creative City for Media Arts (on line at www.modenafuturacreativa.it) that provides an in-depth look at the projects and the path that led Modena all the way to Paris, to the final selection for entry into the network of Unesco Creative Cities that will take place at the end of October. The home page opens on the video "Modena for the media arts" that summarises in just a few minutes the sentiment animating the candidacy, linking the city's roots, its artistic and cultural heritage, the DNA of know-how with a future, already concrete, of innovations and digital and widespread culture applied to the world of culture.
The site and video are at the centre of the speech, in connection, that the Councillor for Culture of the Municipality of Modena Andrea Bortolamasi will make at the Biella Festival of Sustainability, the forum of Unesco Creative Cities, focusing on experiences of sustainable development, running until Sunday 3 October in the Piedmontese city. The video 'Modena for the media arts' emphasises augmented reality, digitisation of book heritage and dematerialisation, visual arts and art installations, as well as artificial intelligence, highlighting the role of the administration that coordinates and directs the candidacy. Like the video, the site is also composed of different languages, to offer cues and stimuli to those who navigate it.
The projects supporting Modena's candidacy are characterised by the connection between digital innovations and transformations with the visual and performing arts, by the intersection between the urban transformations of the city and the creation of new digital containers, and by the focus on digital culture as a useful tool for greater enjoyment of cultural activities.
The project nominated by the Municipality of Modena was developed as part of a process in which the Fondazione di Modena, Fondazione Brodolini - Laboratorio Aperto, Fmav, Gallerie Estensi, Unimore, Fem, Ert, Fondazione Teatro Comunale, Art-ER, Fondazione Collegio S. Carlo also participated by joining the promoting committee.
