The path that led first to the candidature and then to the nomination of Modena as a UNESCO Creative City was the result of a great collective effort.
We have focused on digital innovation, artificial intelligence, new cultural products and technologically advanced projects applied to music, visual arts, theatre and education. It is a process that we conducted in the midst of the pandemic, in that double track that saw us grappling with the emergency on the one hand and the planning of post-pandemic normality on the other. The nomination recognised Modena's excellence in this sector and, before that, the quality of the culture widespread in our city. A city that does not give up, that believes in the future and therefore plans for it, and that precisely in culture sees an axis of restart, with a decisive strategic function to remain great in the coming decades.
