On the occasion of the personal exhibition “Most to Least Viewed” by Eva & Franco Mattes at FMAV – Palazzo Santa Margherita, the pair of artists will dialogue with Pietro Montani, professor of Aesthetics at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”, on the themes of the aesthetics of the virtual and the impact of digital technologies on our daily lives as well as the function and distribution of images and news shared every day on social networks. As Internet users we are recipients and senders, conscious and unconscious, of data of immeasurable scope in a system that influences and conditions our vision of the world. Examining the web as an increasingly centralized, corporatized, censored and monitored system, the conversation will reflect on our contemporary condition of hyper-connected life, approaching the ethics, aesthetics and politics of online life.
