The Estense Galleries have undertaken extensive promotion and publication of their art and book collections digitally.
On museum website around 15,000 works are now published, many of which, such as medals, coins, drawings and matrices, are normally kept in storage and therefore not otherwise visible.
2019 saw the launch of the Estense Digital Humanities project, a platform dedicated to the digitisation of the heritage held at the Estense University Library in Modena. An online space where precious documents and historical sources are preserved and made accessible to the general public.
