The activity of Emilia Romagna Teatro ERT / Teatro Nazionale related to Media Arts started in 2008, through the hosting in its theatres of national and international shows based on the mixing of theatre and multimedia language through the use of new technologies. These shows were presented both as part of the theatre seasons and in the context of VIE Festival, an international review that is by its very nature dedicated to experimentation and multidisciplinarity.
ERT has also been a co-producer and producer of national and international shows that have based their research on the intermingling of technology and theatre.
In March 2020, with the start of the pandemic, the Foundation's Media Arts initiatives were enriched with new proposals. ERTonAIR was born, the online 'container' that allowed the Foundation to maintain its relationship with the public even during the lockdown months. The online streaming activity became the living core of an alternative proposal, which - while having to temporarily give up practices, physical contact and aggregation - imagined theatre as a place of thought.
Since the ERTonAIR experience, the involvement of the Media Arts has been expanded and enriched with new projects.

  • Prospero - Extended Theatre
    Emilia Romagna Teatro ERT / Teatro Nazionale is one of the founders (in 2006) of Prospero, the transnational network supporting theatre production, promoting the circulation of artists and their works and bringing new audiences together, involving ten partners from ten major European capitals (Madrid, Berlin, Warsaw, Paris, Liège, Lisbon, Gothenburg, Zagreb).
    Da questa sinergia è nata Prospero – Extended Theatre, una piattaforma di streaming per ospitare e rendere accessibili gratuitamente e senza limiti territoriali, contenuti legati al teatro, come registrazioni integrali di alta qualità di spettacoli, interviste agli artisti e brevi documentari sul backstage dei teatri e degli spettacoli. Uno spazio che, online da ottobre 2022, consente ai teatri partner di mettere in luce gli artisti e i progetti da loro prodotti e sostenuti, e di aumentare la propria visibilità sulla scena europea. DIGITISATION
  • "As you must imagine me" 
    E’ un progetto dedicato a Pier Paolo Pasolini, ideato da Valter Malosti insieme al critico d’arte, scrittore e accademico Giovanni Agosti, che si è inscritto nelle celebrazioni per il centenario della nascita dell’autore. Per la prima volta è stato presentato sulle scene, in una sola stagione, contemporaneamente, l’intero corpus dei testi teatrali che Pasolini ha scritto, pur in alcuni casi rielaborandoli anni dopo, in un ristretto giro di mesi, nella primavera del 1966.
    Accanto al progetto teatrale si sviluppa il progetto speciale: l’archivio digitale, un articolato progetto di indagine – tra palco, materiali testuali e archivi -finanziato e sostenuto dal Ministero della Cultura, affidato a un gruppo interdisciplinare e intergenerazionale, a cui si associano le Università di Bologna e Modena.
