Saturday 13 September on the stage of the Sant'Agostino with Fondazione di Modena and FEM a dialogue on "Interweaving" between human and non-human authors between critic and sociologist
'Interweaving. Human and non-human authors between art, culture and technoscience". This is the theme of the event on Saturday 13 September, at 9 p.m., when a dialogue between contemporary art critic and curator Marco Mancuso and sociologist and scientific director of the "cheFare" cultural innovation platform Bertram Niessen will be staged on the stage in Piazza Sant'Agostino in Modena.
The initiative, promoted by Fondazione di Modena and FEM, Future Education Modena is part of Ago Off, the dialogues around art that, coordinated by Fondazione Ago, took place as part of the Modena Summer organised by the Municipality and Foundation.
The dialogue between the two scholars develops around the idea of a new ecological thinking from which several questions emerge. For example, how can we think of recognising a role, both social and political, for natural and artificial actors who inhabit a world in which we human beings find ourselves in a growing relationship of interdependence with the environment around us? Or, which challenges arise on a cultural level and which on an aesthetic one?
Last year, Marco Mancuso curated the exhibition 'Umwelt' for the Ago Foundation, dedicated precisely to a reflection, through the works of various international artists, on how art and technoscience artefacts can bring us closer to a deeper understanding of non-human expressions of intelligence, to enter into a relationship with them, integrate them into a new collective environment and spread a renewed ecological ethic by triggering new modes of dialogue and relations between human beings and context, natural and artificial.
The Ago Off review concludes on Monday 15 September, at 9 p.m., with the meeting, promoted by Fondazione di Modena together with Ago, with digital humanities expert Jeffrey Schnapp, Italianist and historian, Harvard lecturer, author of the book "Storia rapida della velocità" (Saggiatore editions). Schnapp discusses this with anthropologist Adriano Favole and Antonello Coletta, CEO of Ferrari WEC. The meeting will be moderated by motoring journalist Maria Grazia Lechleitner.
