From the first solo exhibition in Modena in 2020 to the new exhibition in Doha: landscapes, algorithms and visual tradition meet at M7 with the collaboration of the Ministry of Culture.
Until 19 July 2025, the M7 space in Doha hosts 'New Landscape', a solo exhibition by Quayola, an internationally renowned Italian artist known for his research on the boundaries between art, technology and nature. The exhibition invites the public to observe the landscape through different eyes: those of machines.
Promoted by the Italian Embassy in Qatar, in collaboration with Fondazione Ago Modena Fabbriche Culturali and with the support of the Ministry of Culture's Directorate General for Contemporary Creativity, the exhibition offers a fascinating dialogue between artistic vision and technological innovation.
Curated by Claudio Composti, 'New Landscape' reflects on how contemporary technologies transform our perception of nature. Quayola employs ultra-HD cameras, 3D scanners and laser sensors to observe and reinterpret landscapes. The result is not a simple transposition, but a true visual rewriting: waves, trees, wind and light become data, and then images. A new language emerges, in which reality and simulation merge into poetic and surprising forms.
In 2020, Quayola presented his first solo exhibition in an Italian public institution in Modena: 'Ultima perfezione', curated by Daniele De Luigi and organised by the then Fondazione Modena arti visive. De Luigi himself represented Fondazione Ago at the inauguration of 'New Landscape' in Doha. The initiative was also attended by the Italian Ambassador to Qatar Paolo Toschi, who recognised art as a common ground for exploring affinities, stimulating shared visions and strengthening dialogue between the two cultures.
