On 24 March 2023, the Comunale di Modena will host the premiere by About Birds, by Yuval Avital for string quartet and dancers, artistic isolation, parallel projections, additional visuals and electronics.

How can the most ancient traditions integrate with the most modern scientific and technological technologies? Are there points of contact between our ancestral nature as human beings and the hyper-connected and globalised condition in which we live today?

The work is characterised by a five-day creation process, an 'artistic isolation' at Zocca and the performance with three musicians from the Ensemble Meitar filmed, recorded and photographed to create the multimedia section of the work. In parallel there will be an online activation of a global network of dancers who will participate remotely in the residency, guided by Yuval Avital, through a generative application. The film will be part of the multimedia section of the project.

The project is a co-production between the Fondazione Teatro Comunale di Modena and FMAV - Fondazione Modena Arti Visive, Ensemble Meitar, Felicja BIumental Association, Studio Annette, FBMC - Israel.
