The Music Centre of the Municipality of Modena, in collaboration with Associazione Rizosfera, launches the call for Sonitus 2026 - Composition for landscape and one instrument, an artistic residency aimed at musicians and sound artists under 36 years of age resident or domiciled in Emilia-Romagna.

The project will select three sound designers who will work on the creation of an original work, exploring the relationship between image, space and sound. Guided by curator Giuseppe Cordaro and sound artist Nicola Ratti, with the participation of musician Alessandra Novaga and visual artist Giulio Squillacciotti, the participants will develop a sound dramaturgy inspired by a landscape photograph and the use of an acoustic instrument chosen in relation to the image itself.

The residency will be held in Modena, at La Torre of the Centro Musica_71MusicHub, from 24 to 28 February 2026, and will end with a public presentation on Saturday 28 February at 9 pm.

Participation is free of charge and each selected artist will receive an award of EUR 1,300 gross, including travel, board and lodging expenses.
