On the occasion of Candice Breitz's solo exhibition "Never Ending Stories" at FMAV - Palazzina dei Giardini, the South African artist will dialogue with Fiamma Montezemolo, artist, anthropologist and lecturer in Cinema and Digital Media at the University of California, reflecting on the crucial role of storytelling in the construction of lived reality.

The temporal acceleration that we experience on a daily basis, typical of the attention economy, lengthens and distorts our time, projecting us into a vortex of news and continuous scrolls in social media, which have become our de facto tool for understanding the world.

In this context, the two artists will question the conditions through which empathy is constructed, reflecting on the insensitivity of a saturated media culture in which a strong identification with famous or fictitious characters runs parallel to the widespread lack of interest in real people facing adversity in the real world.
