festivalphilosophy
Modena - Carpi - Sassuolo

TRAINING

For three days, Festivalfilosophy changes the face of the cities of Modena, Carpi and Sassuolo setting up open, common and widespread spaces for education and conversation. More than fifty keynote lectures given by protagonists of the Italian and international cultural scene articulate each edition a keyword that refers to fundamental issues of philosophical discussion and crucial experiences of the contemporary condition.

An extensive creative programme of exhibitions and installations, live performances and concerts, games and workshops, films and philosophical dinners offers ways of accessing the often surprising topics, to point out the virtuous connections between the forms of reflection and those of artistic creation.

Squares and courtyards, historic centres and monumental sites, become places of listening and participation, where residents and visitors can share access to knowledge and dense relationship situations.

Cities as a whole contribute to the success of the event. Not only the cultural partners - museums and galleries, libraries and associations - but also those in the service and hospitality sectors - post offices and businesses, taxi companies and restaurateurs, hoteliers and volunteers - are connected in the project.

From 2022, Festivalfilosofia will offer as part of its creative programme the format "Conversations", in-depth dialogues to interpret the present and the future through the work of artists, curators, professors and philosophers. The 'conversations' format and other appointments in the festival's creative programme see the collaboration of various realities among the partners of Modena UNESCO Creative City for Media Artssuch as Fondazione AGO Modena Fabbriche Culturali, Music Centre of the Municipality of Modena, AFOr - Archivio delle Fonti Orali, FEM - Future Education Modena, URBANER - Culture Urbane Emilia-Romagna.
