The projects supporting Modena's candidacy as Unesco Creative City for Media Arts will be presented at the Forum of Italian Creative Cities in Carrara from Friday 24 to Sunday 26 September.<\/p>\n

After having passed the national selection, together with the city of Como nominated for Crafts and Folk Art, Modena will in fact represent Italy at the final selection for entry into the network of Unesco Creative Cities to be held in Paris at the end of October.<\/p>\n

The first edition of the\u00a0\"<\/a>Creativity Forum Carrara for the Unesco Creative Cities\", is proposed as an opportunity for dialogue and discussion among Italian Creative Cities on post-pandemic strategies for the regeneration of historical centres and territories, in line with the Global Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development, and on the role of the artist and craftsman as drivers of urban regeneration.<\/p>\n

On behalf of the Municipality of Modena, the Councillor for Culture Andrea Bortolamasi will speak (remotely) about the projects supporting Modena's candidacy, characterised by the connection between innovations and digital transformations with the visual and performing arts, the intersection between the city's urban transformations and the creation of new digital containers, and the focus on digital culture as a useful tool for a greater enjoyment of cultural activities.<\/p>\n

The project nominated by the Municipality of Modena was developed as part of a process in which the Fondazione di Modena, Fondazione Brodolini - Laboratorio Aperto, Fmav, Gallerie Estensi, Unimore, Fem, Ert, Fondazione Teatro Comunale, Art-ER, Fondazione Collegio S. Carlo also participated by joining the promoting committee.<\/p>\n

The next appointment, before arriving in Paris, will be in Biella, on 1 and 2 October.<\/p>\n

The Creative Cities Network currently consists of 246 cities in some eighty countries on five continents. In Italy there are eleven creative cities and Modena is the only one selected for Media arts. The aim of the Unesco Creative Cities Network is to promote knowledge, cooperation and projects among cities that have identified culture and creativity as the driving forces of their development.
