Wednesday 4 February is a free programming workshop to tackle problem solving and get closer to the world of software development. Open enrolment<\/strong><\/p>\n

Train your mind like in a gym, but with codes, logic and collaboration. This is the spirit of Coding Gym, the free programming workshop that offers a dynamic and informal way of approaching problem solving and the world of software development, through hands-on exercises, peer-to-peer discussion and direct experimentation.<\/p>\n

The appointment is for Wednesday 4 February, from 6.45pm to 9pm, at the MakeItModena Digital Gym in Strada Barchetta 77. 'Coding Gym' is a format of workshops active in other Italian cities. In Modena it is organised by Conoscere Linux, in collaboration with MakeItModena. Participation is free of charge; only annual membership of the Conoscere Linux association (10 euros) is required. Coding Gym functions as a real 'code gym': the participants, called gymmers, work in pairs on two logic and algorithmic problems, freely choosing the programming language and using a development environment accessible directly from the browser. Computers are provided by the organisation, so that everyone can concentrate exclusively on the exercises.<\/p>\n

The problems proposed are puzzles of balanced and accessible difficulty, in some cases inspired by real technical discussions in large technology companies. At the end of each exercise, a trainer leads a collective discussion to compare solutions, approaches and ideas, encouraging the exchange of expertise and points of view.<\/p>\n

The aim of the workshop is to improve analysis and problem solving skills, to become familiar with algorithms, data structures and coding patterns, to practise already known languages or experiment with new ones, to strengthen collaboration and communication in pairs and, more generally, to prepare for job interviews in the world of software development. All this in an informal and convivial atmosphere that, for those who wish, ends with a shared pizza.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\t
