From 9 to 12 October in Piazza Torre a spectacular architectural videomapping, in a double evening projection<\/strong><\/p>\n

Opening the festival on Thursday 9 October at 9.30 p.m. and 10 p.m. in Piazza Torre will be the preview of the show 'Ghirlandina. Light and Memory\", a spectacular videomapping on the surface of the tower itself that will transform the city's iconic tower into a canvas of light and sound. The audiovisual work will be visible every evening until Sunday 12, with double projections (10.30 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, 9.30 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Sunday) every evening with free admission.<\/p>\n

The video projection will tell the story of the construction of the Ghirlandina, which took place over the course of more than two centuries, through an immersive show. The images, combined with evocative music and three-dimensional scenery, will provide citizens and visitors with a moment of pure wonder, bringing together past and future in an extraordinary visual interweaving.<\/p>\n

A great audiovisual work that connects Modena's two UNESCO recognitions, World Heritage and Media arts, in a dialogue between the monument of exceptional universal value and the media arts that is at the heart of the entire project. In fact, since 2021 Modena has been part of the UNESCO network of creative cities, the first city in Italy to receive this recognition for media arts, in the name of a collective path of innovation in the cultural sphere, development of creativity and dialogue between knowledge and languages.<\/p>\n

Produced by Delumen and curated by Santimone srl, the video projection is the result of long collective work. The contents edited by Francesca Piccinini, with narrative adaptation of the texts by Elena Grazia F\u00e8, from the World Heritage Office of the Civic Museum of Modena, account for the most up-to-date studies on the history of the Tower, thanks to the collaboration of Professor Stefano Lugli (UniMoRe - Department of Chemical and Geological Sciences) and architect Rossella Cadignani, responsible for the latest restoration of the tower.<\/p>\n

The architectural modelling is based on the 3D survey of the tower provided to the municipality by engineer Federico Benatti, while the projection was made possible by the availability of the Duomo and Metropolitan Basilica Museums and private citizens.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\t
