Multimedia installation 'Before Light

2025 will mark the80th anniversary of the Liberation and Resistancemoments that have profoundly marked Modena's history, Gold Medal for Resistance.

To celebrate this anniversary, the Municipality of Modena promoted a participatory project dedicated to collecting citizens' memories, stories and reflections on the War and Liberation. The call, open to all ages, resulted in the collection of more than 60 audio and video testimonies recorded at the Music Centre between July and September.

From this path was born 'Before the light"a'multimedia art installation hosted at theFormer day care centre in Piazza Mazzini from 7 November to 2 December 2025.
The work intertwines images, sounds and voices taken from the collected testimonies, transforming them into a work that combines art, memory and technology.

"Before the Light" invites the public to get in touch with the emotions and values of the Resistance, renewing the link between past and present and handing over to the new generations the living memory of a city free for 80 years.
