The first edition of this Festival presents a rich calendar of events. It will kick off on 7 May, picking up the baton of 'Modena City of Belcanto', an event that has successfully valorised the city's opera tradition since 2016.

The Festival was created with the aim of promoting bel canto and vocalism more broadly, involving both the city and regional context.

Within the programme there is also room for research, with the electronic music performance by Hatis Noit feat. Akasha visuals/Marina Herl-po, commissioned by the Festival in collaboration with theOther Sound and as part of Modena City of Media Arts.

Among the Festival's original initiatives are VOX/IMAGE, an under-30 competition dedicated to video on the theme of Belcanto and vocality in its broadest sense, the results of which will be shown on 29 May at the Sala Truffaut, an event in collaboration with Associazione Circuito Cinema.
